Angel Cards

As I sit here thinking about this week’s uneventful, or more accurate term nonexistent “Wine Wednesday,” I got to thinking about how much I miss it. Getting together with the girls once a week, having cocktails, playing Skipbo or Mexican Train Dominoes, and pulling angel cards.

After having a medium do an angel reading for me and eventually just about everyone I know, I was motivated to try it myself. I bought a deck and followed the instructions in the booklet included. I’ve watched tutorials and done research on different spreads, or layouts of the cards, so I could have a better understanding. For me, pulling cards is just for fun. I have always found people, friends or strangers, that have wanted me to pull cards for them. It is always good to get more practice. I’ve even done readings for people over the phone and through messaging, which were all very interesting.

Now I have an array of decks I’ve experimented with and use, some more often than others, and am always excited to try new ones. The cards that I use are all very positive and encouraging. I do not consider Angel Cards to necessarily be the same as Tarot Cards. No scary “Death” card in my decks.

Most of the decks that I use are created by Doreen Virtue. Each card has a beautiful, angelic picture related to the meaning on it. I have also enjoyed many of her books which have all been very interesting and informative. However, recently I read on her website that she is moving out of the New Age products, so I wonder if I’ll still be able to purchase them?

The purpose of pulling angel cards is because you’re clearly looking for guidance. To be clear, God is in the center of this philosophy, urging you to pray to Him before anything else. Though our impatient selves try to force things along, being unable to wait for His plan to reveal itself. As a way to get a sense of understanding or guidance, and as a quick fix to our questions, problems, etc., mainly to make ourselves feel better; pulling cards has seemed to be a version of doing that.

People will believe what they choose to, and take meaning from the cards that are personal or related to them. They will see and interpret what they need to. I can look at a spread and my interpretation of it could be completely different than the person it is for. Intuition is helpful when dealing the deck and trying to get a clear understanding of the meaning. There’s been times I look at a spread and say, “I’m sorry, I have no idea what this is talking about, it makes no sense to me,” but it does to them. It makes sense to them because they know what is in their heart, and that’s the most important thing. The cards are just a tool.

I have had some very interesting experiences pulling cards for myself and other people. A spread I did for myself was so “life-changing” that it lead to a major decision I was facing, and did in fact completely change my life. Some people’s readings have resulted in tears of happiness or sorrow. Some have the same card(s) repeat themselves in different spreads for that person. One reading I did for a friend “predicted” the month she would get pregnant, and she did!

No matter your opinion on card readings, it is something I enjoy doing and have been able to help others through doing it. If anything, it is a fun parlor game!

I have seen you pull cards for many people, most are spot on, unless their “free will” gets in their way!
